Enjoy the Ride

I found the cord to our camera.  It turns out Nathan put it in the camera bag, so we wouldn't lose it.  Having given up on them, I am now ecstatic to have access to my pictures.  Modern technology helps to let us have better communication with Nathan.  I love this shot I got of the kids the first time they talked to Nathan on Tango. How great it is to see a person's face and talk to them.  I remember watching science fiction shows as a kid and wondering at the impossibility of the technology that we now enjoy.

Life rolls by even when we are not perfectly happy.  I was reminded yesterday that we cannot wish away our days.  President Uchdorf talked about riding bikes with his wife and wanting to race, when she reminded him to enjoy the journey.  Sometimes I am in rush to get to the finish line, but I forget that the journey is where the joy and learning comes.

We cancelled our cable to save money, and I am really not missing it.  Now we can spend more time playing games and reading.  Even though Nathan got a raise with his new joy, once we take out the additional taxes and social security which he didn't have to pay here, we are making $200 less a month.  It's pretty depressing.  Oh well, it will be good to be closer to family and once we get settled things will work out just fine.

We celebrated Danielle's birthday on Tuesday.  I don't know how much of a celebration it was for her between her cold, Nicole's swim lesson, the cub scout blue and gold dinner and piano lessons.  We got home at 8:15 pm and had cake and ice cream.  She did really enjoy her presents, though.  She demanded to open them all in the morning, and I decided she would have more fun playing with them all day.  I can't believe she is already 3 years old.  She is growing too quickly.
